Death


On the other side
Of the unspeakable door
Is what you think it is
Less or more
The rest and retreat
You might be expecting
From a life that is ceased
From toil and prospecting
A dark and nothing place
Dry of love and void of grace
Much feared and long delayed
Neither altered,used,or played

The changing state
Of bone and flesh
Where mind is at peace
And muscles rest
Some call home
And others retribution
The end of known
The final solution
No forwarding address
No second act
But for reincarnation
Or devils pact

Harshly or softly
You still must go
Some get there quickly
Others slow
Always pending
Seldom expected
Neither charted or mapped
Or accurately projected
Holding fast
To the ties that bind
Prolongs the past
And blurs the lines

Where nothing is clear
And less is sure
Anxiously anticipated
By the pure
When the reaper calls
And his sickle falls
Your released of your weakness
And escape your walls
Life postpones
To enter this place
Nothing is owned
There is no disgrace
It was before
Now comes again
Just swim to the shore
And deal with it then
