A MADNESS

by Dr.anant

To her I said,
"I'll love you still I'm dead,
Even if to you, I may not wed !"

She did not understand
my helplessness
And laughed at me for my
perfect madness !
She called me deceptive,
cheater, without manners
coward and useless !

To her-
I could not reveal the reason
for my odd decision
And she married happily
One of the cardiac surgeons !

I was a little bit sad but didn't regret
I could not have kept her happy
That was the real secret !

I wanted her to be always happy
But eventually I came to know
That she still loves me
And as I live unhappy
The same way, she does copy !

    Melly,I am from very poor family. Her father was a Doctor. She stood first at M.B.B S Exam in Bombay university A beautiful but egocentric lady.I was not equivalent to her and ours was a platonic love.I refused to marry her.She damaged my career and that angered me a lot and I decided not to accept her at any cost.It was self-inflecting but I had no other way. Dr. Anant

    Mary,in case of love one should be ready to totally devote oneself. Selfish love is not a true love. Mundane musings give you a momentary happiness.Devotion gives you perpetual satisfaction....Dr.Anant

i lost the love of my life too doc. not in the same circumstances as you..she died. but lost love is, lost love . no matter the way it occurs. felt great empathy with this poem - love and peace - paul.
