November 11th

To my wonderful husband Jermaine

It was November 11th 2005
On this day I looked into your eyes
You gave me the honor of being your wife
As I held my tears back I realized
You brought me happiness, I cant explain it
The energy I feel when you touch me
A bond so strong no one could break it
Time and time again you proved you loved me
As we stood before God and said our vows
I promised you my heart and soul
Never once did I have doubts
Because its you who makes me whole
You slid the ring onto my finger
Looked into my eyes and said I DO
I smiled at you and let the moment linger
Then in return gave my heart to you
From the first day that I met you
I knew you were sent to me
I opened my heart and in I let you
Because I knew we were meant to be

Excellent expression of devotion and love. Maybe a little forced in meter for rhyme at the last, but remember, "A poem is never finished until the poet dies or otherwise quits learning". A wise poet friend of mine told me that.
