Poems - LIFES MAP

LIFES MAP

I walk down a road
that I chose to take
on a journey of life
based on decisions that I make.

From a young age, I was told to learn
to map out my life right.
decide which cross roads to turn
for our lives, we can not rewrite.

Most of my journey has been on track
a few wrong turns along the way
slowed me down and held me back
as I lost sight of life's straight way.

At a cross road I met one day
a beautiful soul
at her own crossroad, deciding whether to go or stay
struggling for her own control.

Our maps we found were half
of what we could not see on our own
with this discovery we did laugh
for now our roads we would re-stone.

We have now traveled many miles together
on roads sometime tough
together we make it seem gentler
at life's toll roads we will have no tariff.

With our maps now one
and our life ways clear
no need to run
our lives will be together, it does appear.
