Poems - now that's reality

now that's reality

child didn't cry
the final moment
of this dream becoming a possibility...
..until i took those scissors
and cut that rubbery thing-
the veins in my hand bulged-
for some reason
it immediately reminded me
of cutting through a whoopy cushion
i smirked and i clamped down a second time.
when the blood flew, my eyes traced it-
up her belly, to where our eyes locked.
i've never known a more sincere, admirable smile.
at that moment, i knew the dream
had slipped into reality.
