The Bench

A day with that girl,
A wise man spoke true,
Passes far quicker,
Than I ever knew.

As I sit on the bench,
Gazing into her eyes,
I feel within my heart,
A love begin to rise.

My hand next to hers,
Twitches to no end,
While I wish in my soul,
To be more than her friend.

I feel it opening,
The sky high above,
Gaping to make space,
For my undying love.

And I know for sure,
As into those eyes I gaze,
It's with her Im certain,
I'll spend the rest of my days.
