Poems - SITTING BEAR

SITTING BEAR

Sitting Bear and Little Horse
loved each other dearly
and lived along the rivers course
content and in love so clearly
A warrior Sitting Bear was not
for war was not his thing
until that fateful day Little Horse was shot
and for evermore he'd never hear her sing
he set out upon his steed
for a killer he would find
promising, from their heart they would bleed
for it was Little Horse that he pined
a warrior Sitting Bear would become
the killer, Sitting Bear had found
at a saloon, full of rum
with a broken heart, he entered white man,s ground
from its sheath, he pulls his knife
sadly before he can throw
a bullet will take is life
and to Little Horse, Sitting Bear will go.

Oh dAVE... truly a sad story for they should have lived happily ever after, eh? Nicely done, my friend. I think "saloon" might be spelled thusly, but maybe not where you're from... tee-hee, who knows. Take care, Mary Ann
