You Never Lied

You didn't love me like I thought you would
You didn't 'cause you said it'd do no good

You didn't on-time pay the bills
Instead went shopping for instant thrills

You didn't have a heart of gold
Instead an attitude oh so bold

You didn't stress about the problems we had
In your eyes the relationship was not all bad

You didn't inspire nor desire to light a fire at sex in bed
You didn't complain but only said it wasn't something you totally dread

You didn't lead me to water and force me to drink
For at that moment I could only think

For all you did and all you tried, I have concluded you never lied.

    The truth of being able to express others sentiments makes writing more prolific; you can gloom or excite in the moment. On the flip side of things, people tend to expect others to be a pivotal point in their happiness. As you have taken from this poem, she is distressed since the relationship isn't what she thought it was and he was honest about it. Thanks for stopping by. Wink
