Count Your Blessings

When you complain about your job,
Your boss is mean, your co-worker a slob,
Please listen to the words I say
And count your blessings every day.

You have a roof above your head,
At night you sleep in your marriage bed
Your spouse is there to hold your hand
Who cares if your boss doesn’t understand?

You have food to eat, hunger is not at your door,
Why would you want or ask for more?
Others have no home or food or job,
They’d be happy to have a co-worker slob!

You moan and complain and say life isn’t fair,
And ignore the ones who love you and care
Who try to brighten up your life
You have good friends and a thoughtful wife.

So please before yourself you pity
Look at the homeless around our city
And listen to the words I say,
Count your blessings every day.

Thanks for this inspiring poem. I wish it could be posted for all to see, everywhere because so many focus on what they do not have to the detriment of what they do. Oh Well, I suppose that's human nature. Such a good reminder. Love and blessings, Tasha
