Time

Time's whining about taking too long again...
those arrows don't mean a thing
untune those circular prudes
claiming to record a second -

please !

We need labels
stability relies on labels
each step we take is recognized
by the time it took to reach
progression goes in sessions

Time's got no pace to keep
those deeply-imbedded human needs
of tracking how well you did
in the time provided
speed's all that counts
blah, blah, blah, blah
that's just another way of people measuring
success

I refuse to endorse these sick perversions
of categorizing and ordering
while it seems that losing time will distort your lives
its the opposite
lose time
and you'll find an entire life

Whatever you say
watches will remain on our wrists
and clocks will continue to twist
as long as convenient,
we'll have you exist
