Stand before your flag
Proud and true of your homeland
Proud of your native people
and of your multi race culture
We must not let way to war
nor cloud your honor and flag
let not your blood flow from these shores
be proud of your acceptance of change
We are not a cess pool
but a part of cleansing and rebirth
be proud of all colors of our skins
be proud for we are all Australians
Islamic Jewish Buddhist Christians
you need just add Australian in front
be proud of where you live
and be proud of this flag

Great poem David.......as an Australian I agree with every word.......too damn often ordinary people get confused with those who have the power and the means to create fear.

dave - wonderful tribute to your great country! I believe so strongly in every word you said! Our homeland, no matter where it is, makes us what we are! The diversity of skin color and religious belief, etc. only makes the "melting pot" sweeter. GREAT write.

thank you for voicing this because I am an American soldier who is proud of my flag and country and i fight for it every day. I am also in Iraq for my second tour. so again thank you for this great poem
