Poems - Wicked Wind

Wicked Wind

the day grew dark as night
the roar of the wind picked up
some people ran
some stayed and holed up
there was terror and confusion
in the village, people scattered like ants
in a burning log, running all amuck
the big wind frightful, scant
trees bent to the ground
there was no where to run
just as suddenly, it stopped
they surveyed the devastation
all was gone, all was lost
no one could move into action
huts were gone, laundry too
bycicles and cars and stone
buildings crumbled
they could rebuild
but Africans are poor enough
they are resourceful I've found
and can handle disaster very tough

a unique perspective on a tragedy...well written... one typo... should be bicycle.
