You can tell by the look he meant it.

by alexanderV

You can tell by the look that he meant it.

He could only despise me.
You see he'd wanted out for so long and I was so wrong I was so, so wrong.
That night and yet he still wanted to be this sort of, my sort of right.
He still wanted to be able to escape from this place that he had grown to hate.
It's time for release to be free from disease.
But all he can do is watch me walk away.
While his wheelchair in cased in chains is still there today.
With his propped up body and his pretend smile, you can tell it's pretend from a mile.
But he keeps it there or so I've been told.
I haven't seen in years I can't ever be that bold as to come back to my house that was built out of stone.
Our mother just used to update as I went from state to state.
I would re cooperate and she would reiterate when she realised what I meant by state to state.
Your brother is getting worse please come home she would say.
But I would find an excuse everyday another reason I had to stay.
And now I regret the fact I had to much faith.
In things staying the same way.
If I'm not here how can he die without giving me the chance to say good bye?
Turns out that's not how things work out , that's not the master plan.
Turns out I was being another selfish brother who just didn't give a damn.
I still haven't been home to the place we grew up together.
The place where we decided that never ever, ever.
Would we be just one plus one it was always just you and me.
Brother always just you and me, always just you and me.
He could no longer only despise me.
He wanted out for so long and finally he was gone.
