Poems - you are my last thought

you are my last thought

it has been so long as i sit here and waited
i waited for the last card to be dealt
i waited for death to catch up with me

than i heard the shots rang out and all my guards were killed
so here i sit waiting for you to find me
no need to run because i already know there are others waiting for me to do that

i wait and wait as i hear u slamming the doors as you search each room
i sit here and see my honey and my other loved ones flashing thru my mind
i silenty say my last thoughts of love to each of them and kiss it off into the wind

maybe they will hear me and my last thoughts were of them and our love
as he finds me i still sit there thinking of you
he smiles as he grabs me and sees my ring and "who the hell is that from"?

no one daddy no one at all. I bought it for myself as a birthday present
he smacks me and shakes me hard, he does not believe me
but it is my turn to just smile

no matter how much he tries he never learned the truth of my husband
who i love dearly and will never my crazy dad ever touch
i watch and feel my time on this earth grow shorter and shorter

but i look one last time at the ring you gave me
and my last thoughts of our vows and love for each other
I am now only a memory but you are still alive

as a gentle tear falls
you were my last thought

I really liked this poem. I am drawn to poems that have a lot of emotion in them. The kind where you can feel what the writer was going through, as if you were going through it right beside them. I really felt the intensity of the pain in this one.
