Poems - Quicksand

Quicksand

I feel like I'm sinking in quick sand
Like I'm cursed, like sooner or later
the ground beneath me will open up
and swallow me whole.

It doesn't matter if I ain't gotta dime
in my pocket
or if there's a hundred dollar bill.

The song in my heart
can only sing the blues.
and then I met you,
I dreamed of your love pulling me through.

But I kept on sinking
falling deeper into the dispair
that comes from unreturned love.

I struggle and I fight to stay above it.
but still I sink
and fade away from the light
Until at last I am six feet deep.

Excellent poem but the word dispair is mispelled despair
it is a very emointional poem with a sad tone the title conveys
the message but when i get stuck in the muck and mire of life
i try to look up
