O.K. I can't resist putting my oar in. If you're giving an absolute value, then how can you categorically say there is hope? The non absolute value of hope may very well be despair, in as much as despair is the opposite value of hope but both have the same absolute value. So maybe in fact, there is..despair. Absolute values suck anyway:they tell us NOTHING about the real state of play. If I told you my absolute annual salary was $5,000 would you put me way,way below the poverty line (and send me a christmas hamper donation?). What f I told you I earned this in Yemen: that would make me a millionaire there. I'm more interested in in the relative. Although I also take the point about relatives: who needs them.
p.s. what do you think of this quote (from gargantua & pantagruel): a relative lack of can only be identifed if there has been previous possession.

Do I go off as saying there is hope? I hope not(no pun intended)!! what I men to convey is that in the here and now memories and dreams can have value, but they are subjugated to the abslote reality of now, thus meaning that we are stuck within the confines of absolute value.

I like the quote, it's very fitting. I believe we all just fiddle in comparables(paraboles). If it isn't cold it's hot - if it isn't high it's low. we are all bi-polar in design.
