Different Eyes

Friend,
do you see the woes of exile
behind this smile?

Searching for hidden treasures
within this wheel of pain and pleasure
I have traveled beyond
all known horizons.

Now, lost pilgrim,
I am, come home
From paths once roamed,
and see it for the first time
through different eyes.

Wherever you go
this world is full
of the same anxious lies,
tears cried,
tired bones.

This test,
Merely cosmic jest?
What gain?
How much loss?
