Poems - Be-Longings

Be-Longings

She came into my room
Not knowing I was there
She touched my heart and soul
moving me from there to here

She left my room unchanged
That's what others seem to see
But my furniture's rearranged
Somewhere inside of me

Tripping over my chair
My table is now askew
The lights go on and off
without switches to do

Hanging pictures tilt a bit
Trying to find their place
But can't seem to remember
Which way they use to face

She left her words hanging
painting pictures of magic's night
She added color to the walls
that once were black and white

Trying to put it straight
Forgetting she ever came
There's just too many reminders
To make it be the same

Maybe she will come again
Make magic fill the air
Get my be longings back in order
reset my table and my chair

Until she does
Belongings to recover
So much rearranging to do
Furnishings to discover
