Mine and Mind

I walk away in stillness

Stillness of the heart

Just a flutter of emotion

From the beating part

Once a raging drumbeat

Discovered with surprise

The results of a deep feat

In the sparkling of your eyes

So easily to get lost

The sparkle and the shine

New pennies always rake the cost

Of the tarnishment of mind

As I peer from the shadow

and wonder why it's gone

The only responsibility, I know

is mine and mind alone

.

Love the content of the poem. I hope its ok to suggest you might tweak the mechanics a bit when you rhyme to get the meter balanced.
