Poems - A Death In The Family
| | A Death In The Familyby Pujakins
"When there's a death in the family a black hole appears in your family universe. But once the grief is spent, the black hole can become your window into the Eternal." Elise Caswell
Physics says a black hole is uncreated matter awaiting shape.
Time tells space how to curve, space tells time how to b: E=MC2.
Myself to know, I look out my window to the eternal
seeking to know who I am. Yet the only true knowing is within;
to discover it I must be quiet and listen.
Death can open a mind to life, returning attention
from the smallness that otherwise muffles and cloaks.
As the shadow defines the light, the edge the surface,
the skin what is not-self from self, death can impact us,
can make us aware of all that lives still,
Yet it is said we are also all-that-is;
that mind is the builder, the sustainer, the destroyer,
swinging about in a wild dance of ecstasy.
Who or what shapes the universe,
writes, directs, produces, views the play?
In the universe that is my self I seek to learn
that I may know my place in that dance of creation.
Whole and part as in a hologram, I make my choices:
Move, speak, or keep still. I am the orchestra, conductor, audience.
The music plays; I rest within the chords,
conscious of attunement or disharmony,
I guide adjustment, listening.
At times I peer into the black hole turned window
that was once my son and tell myself,
Be still and know that I am that I am.

This is definitely a 10 and a favorite.
People will comment this eventually.
More people.
I'm afraid that if I go into minuscule detail as to why I like this poem,
I will run a thousand words.

I have no words to describe that Tasha. The second stanza spoke words of wisdom to me that I learnt long ago, and you reminded me of a great mentor. Thank you and a favourite for me

I remember this from the forums, where I made some comments. I still don't particularly like the introduction of physics into it, but I guess we will just have to agree to differ about that. A friend is somebody who can disagree with you but still respect you anyway! In any case, the rest of it is excellent and once again your talent is very clear, Tasha!

Yes, well you see I like the extended metaphor represented by the use of physics because it speaks to me. Perhaps it does not speak to you, and we do of course agree to disagree, as good friends are wont to do. I beliee each of us brings our unique perspective to whatever we speak about and that's what makes it fun! Thank you so very much for your kind words. Love and Blessings, Tasha

My Dear, Kind Furry Friend, bless you for yoursweet words, I am so honored to be of help in any way I can be. always. My feeling has always ben that the best we can do in this world for this world is to be as good an example of what we see as upright kind persons. If I can be of help any time I will always be glad to be. I too am of this same opinion that we will meet again in God'sGarden, in good time. Meanwhile I have him always in my heart. I will be sharingother oems about him as this is Robin's birth month. Love and Hugs, Tasha
