    I saw two very large birds high up over the sky scrapers in Manhattan today. Their wingspan was way too big for seagulls so I imagine they were hawks of some kind. Wa the first time I had seen that in the city.

      Check with your "birder" sister. She can probably tell you what they were/are. Being that close to the ocean, they may be ernes (sea eagles). (and the name of TD Willhite's sailboat and the source of deeply embedded memories).
