Mask

by flypeople

Different hair
Different me
Different personality
Try as I might
I always like
What I am not

It makes me glad
That I am sad
For what I have
I don’t deserve

I disregard everything
And everyone who cares for me
I like them even love them
But I put on a mask
So no one can get close

I don’t want people to hurt me
Like everyone would do
One time or another
Everyone will lie
Everyone will cheat
But not with me
I don’t let them get close
To hurt me
To give me pain
