12 North of Montgomery

by greygrynn

Erskine Hawkins babumps sugar-pain gentle,
flesh long-gone to Alabama’s’ rich dirt and rain,
saxophone raisin its sweet angel cane.

Scatter, bored hyenas, from chrome-tube,
18 wheeled mastodon diving for Exit 22,
Erskine Hawkins babumps sugar-pain gentle.

And we roll, 10 over, south-down highway 85,
canary-sunlight glitter-pops off red-silver skin,
saxophone raisin its sweet angel cane.

Mini Panzers blitzing, little screens smunching,
dim lithograph worlds, blue-white childhood long,
Erskine Hawkins babumps sugar-pain gentle.

We six pod up, no words, alight in far left lane, gently
tug-pull away, licorice-red tail lamps dot-gone,
saxophone raisin its sweet angel cane.

BMW iron-locked solid, wintergreen pine trees zigger-flash on past,
Crimson-Tide red sun sink-melts to purple-orange twilight.
Erskine Hawkins babumps sugar-pain gentle,
saxophone raisin its sweet angel cane.

This isn't quite what I expected upon reunifying with ya, greygryn. I read this here piece of metaphoric mischief 'n', fer the life of me, I truly enjoyed smilin' all the way through my perplexed journey to the end. Have anything to do with tv? I'm lost. Mighty fun read though. It's good seein' ya still here after over five years. I've been gone that long.
I'll talk to ya later.
