Poems - I believe..

I believe..

I believe

there is poetry in everything,
even when I bend pajama clad,
hips aching,
bag over my hand,
to pick dog shit from the courtyard grass,

that the best explanation for grass
and all other matter
is the existence of a Necessary Being,

that the free will of contingent beings
is no contradiction,

that contradictions are impossible
when all premises agree,
(to paraphrase Francisco D'Anconia,
a fictional character)-

and
that if fictional entrepreneurs can be that sage,
why not an actual stiff
in blue collar gray
scrawling philosophy
on a Quiznos napkin?
