This sense of dis
con ---------- tion
------- nect ------
Is distinct it is dis
tinguished Wrap
ped in anguish It
is english That is
dropped from he
ights in spanish -
Alto Alto! ALTO!
----- STOP ------
there's a train th
at's running thru
Ripping bitter (w
)holes of(f) you L
eaves that fall rig
ht off, bound to
When that train g
oes blazing by On
its way to make
con-nect-tions

You are rooted to
the ground And
the fruit is withe
ring For the rus
hing speed of th
ings That you ac
tively engage in
The things you t
hink are saving A
re just stripping a
nd just tapping A
nd the rootednes
s is trapping With
out drawing bette
r things. Because
you're likely dying

As i passed by in
the summer This
whole scene was
life sublime Like a
day that can't ge
t better Now this
fruit is tasting bitt
er While the seas
on's turned to wi
nter Across the i
ce i hear the sou
nd Of a train qui
ckly approaching
Your branches na
ked shake For a
world that left yo
u leaving.
