Poems - it's nice out

it's nice out

As spring chases a winter that
never came, I touch your face and
tell you, "This is why we moved
here- to sit in parks and play chess
with old men."

Living for the sake of life, it’s
one of those days.

A jovial sun blesses the menagerie
of life gathered in the Square; all
manner of folk sewn together
in the miracle of New York. We
share the serenade that laps nearby.

At some point, for no particular
reason we realize it’s the first day
we’ve laid in the grass all year. Simple,
but true and we’re thankful for the
privilege. You smile and point to
a group of kids entranced by a
congress of clowns and I say,
"One day baby."

We look down at our playful feet
and laugh at the size of my sas-
quatch big toe. Taking a moment
to appreciate our imperfections
before returning to locked eyes
and lips awaiting a kiss.

this is beautiful

we've had one of those days in atlanta today
"a perfect day to work (inside)?"

i didn't truly want to come back inside the building after lunch it was so pretty
