Poems - WHITE DEATH

WHITE DEATH

"White Death" walks in the corridor
looking for souls to take in its wake.

Sound of a clock ticking
Branches of trees' licking and kicking
on a broken window pane
but for all in vane.

And the "White Death" spread
spiraling bodies wrapped in white sheets
going down to Satan there to meet.
A dark passage to a unknown
world of faded hopes and dreams
so it seems.

While lost souls walk the corridor
asking for help with disembodied voices
that keep making noises.

Authors notes
"White Death" was a term used for tuberculosis
in the Waverly Hills Sanatorium.
They estimated a body an hour was thrown down into a "death tunnel".

Great write. Very chilling. The place you describe here is lonely and irrie. Hope for the living seems to be lost. Very Happy

I don't doubt that this place is haunted beyond belief
those places were nothing more than torture schools
where the most horrible things took place and
high society sipped their coffee and teas and
drove right past them or lived next to them
totally disregarding the screams and shrills
of the natives that are locked inside the walls
caged like savages.
