i live for you

I run through these streets
Avoiding everybody around me
Frantically looking around
Trying to spot you
Amongst all the lost souls
Trying to save you from death.

I run through this crowd
Searching for you
Trying to get to you
Before you get killed
Before you get torn apart
Limb from limb.

I run into your arms
Knocking you flat onto your back
Saving you from harm
You look at me and say
"I thought you were dead
I thought you committed suicide."

I take your hand
Placing it over my heart and say
"my heart still beats strongly
I still breathe deeply"
I kiss your lips
"and lastly, my kiss is still sweet."

You put your arms around me
Pulling me closely
As I say "I live for you,
I live because of you,
Because I love you."

As my arms slide around your neck
You kiss my lips
But only after saying
"I love you too babygirl
And I'm glad I am your reason
To stay alive."

the hectic scared feeling conveyed in the first part of this poem are expressed very well. i feel it is more of a dream or nightmare but in the end the two lovers find each other and all is well. an intriguing write.
