By the way GP, if you are going to ask me for any kind of advice, or help, please be aware that I am brutally blunt, so be prepared for an honest answer, and know I am not trying to be mean, or rude or anything else that I have heard, I am simply honest, in a way that I appreciate people being with me. |

| Superchick's recent Blog entry. | Breaking The Shell ( 201 reads) | Sunday, May 05, 2013 (22:43:29) | | | I always knew there would come a point in life when you go through all you can mentally take and you snap. I've always been afraid of what would happen if I reached that point, always ran from pain, from fear, from worry so I wouldnt have to find out. Hiding away just seemed easier. But life has a way of catching up to you. Especially the things you run from.
This time around, it just happened. My brain just...well....broke. Now in therapy outpatient programs, and classes, I am seeing a new side to life. To hope. To finding motivation. I realize that even though I have been a victim of severe abuse of all kinds, that even though I have 23 years of mental shit to work through, I can decide to be a survivor. I always said that I was, but in reality I was still living in a victim mindset. The "Whoa is me, my life has been miserable, feel bad for me please. Validate my worth for me."
I've chased so many things to try to fill the gaping wounds that have been soul deep for as long as I can remember. But the remedy has been right in front of me the whole time... Me. Understanding I am enough. That I am not beyond saving...the only thing is, I need to save myself. I need to break away from all my old ways of thinking, my old patterns of behavior. the shell of who I used to be.
I used to say. "All I need is a good man, and a place I can call my home a safe haven rather than a mini war zone, then I'll be happy." Needless to say I have yet to find either of those things. Lol. I chased them til I was bleeding, and black and blue. I came close a few times, but each time the pain of that failure pushed me closer to the edge til I finally went over.
It isnt anything like what I thought it would be. It's like climbing to the top of a huge mountain, thinking along the hike up the seemingly ninety degree angle trail that you're going to die, then you reach the top, fall on the ground in exaustion, sleep awhile, wake up and see what seems like the whole world sprawled in front of you, and you look down, and see just how far you've come to get to where you are.
I know that this path will be a hard one. It will not be easy, but I know that it will be worth it. I realize that it's time to simply focus on me, and the peace of solitude and personal growth. I can't have any of my dreams unless I first learn to truly stand confidently on my own. Its high time I face my fears, take charge of my own life, and let myself heal. | Last 10 News Submissions: |
