| Void_SansAnge's recent Blog entry. | imaginary blue-grey boy ( 667 reads) | Wednesday, December 09, 2009 (11:52:00) | | | We no longer have anything in common.
Funny, isn't it?
How, after nearly a decade of friendship & a lifetime of changes,
the differences spring up so quickly.
For most of the time I have known you we have been polar opposites,
drawn together by eerily common interests & a knack for good conversation.
Weird, that one day you woke up and realized
that we no longer liked the same books, or music,
no longer laughed at the same off-color jokes, or watched the same movies....
When did it click?
Somewhere between my gushing about the new "twilight" series
& auditioning for mtv's "the real world,"
I'd guess.
But who am i to say,
you don't even know me anymore.
In the two times you've seen me in the last 6 months,
it was that clear.
Was it the pot?
that terrible mind-altering substance.
Could we still be friends if i ate fistfuls of valium each day instead?
Or that little bit of liquid social lubricant?
did the beer make this akward?
or was it you all along?
Sitting in your parents basement,
playing your games,
pretending you're someone else,
you haven't changed a bit.
I can't help but wonder if that's it.
If I make you realize how much your standing still?
Christ, you're nearly 30
and you still haven't moved out of mom & dad's.
You play make-believe in your spare time; what little you have,
between a back-breaking dead-end overnight job
& a little glowing box.
You pathetic, lifeless nerd.
Would it make your life easier,
if i could erase that reflection in your tv screen?
That girl you knew, she's still here.
Tenacious little thing,
all scuffed plams and scraped knees
but at least i'm still moving.
I can still see a boy i used to know too,
just dimmer...
he glimmers a faint blue-grey in his empty room,
a monitor for his nightlight . | Last 10 News Submissions: |
