I heard your voice today, and I almost cried.
You didn't have a lot to say, but my pain was opened wide.
I wanted so bad to tell you, that I dream of us so much.
That in the hours of darkness, I miss your gentle touch.

I heard your voice today, and my heart almost stood still.
You had to hear it in my sigh, that I love you and always will.
I miss our special friendship, and the things we used to do.
All the little things, that turned you into you.

I heard your voice today, and it shook me to my core.
Did you recall that awful night, when you let me walk out the door?
I tried so hard to hate you, but my love was far too strong.
I couldn't stop my feelings, even though I knew they were wrong.

I heard your voice today, and I forced myself to smile.
We shared something very special, but it was just for a little while.
I hope you find the happiness, you've looked for all your life.
And you let me be your friend again, though I'll never be your wife.

I heard your voice today, and it brought back all those things.
The late night calls, the letters, and that beautiful diamond ring.
