I've just experienced something for the first time: My first poetry rejection. Apparently, my two newest pieces aren't quite good enough for Poetry Magazine. That's alright. While I respectfully disagree with their opinion, I do find it a thrill to have someone with connections actually take a look at my stuff. Most all of the time, I find myself humming a tune in my head that matches a situation that I'm currently in. I know which song I'll be singing today: "Well on the way, head in a cloud, the man of a thousand voices talking perfectly loud. But nobody ever hears him or the sound he appears to make, and he never seems to notice.
