Life's Little Stories

Douglas H. Mc Clintock 1934 (Sarnia, Ontario)

God, can you give a brother a helping hand ?
Give me strength to be your able soldier again,
I know in your heart, you always understand
This is me calling, I am no stranger !

It is clear to me
My time is numbered,
My soul tells me, it wants to be free,
A planned life coming to an end !

Thankyou for giving me a long life ( 88 )
What more could I ask for ?
My wife Bette was my lovely helpmate ( 74 )
Three kids to make it complete for sure ! ( 64, 60, 55 )

Seven close friends made it  worthwhile
They all played a part in my life,
A friend indeed will go the extra mile
My memories tell me, it was so !

After a night shift at the CN Railways,
Cup of coffee and cookie to start the day
Sleeping  all day and doing it all over
The teenager's life was no make over !

So working 49 years of my life
And even a crossing guard  to make it right
23 years single, 54 years married
11 years widowed and still breathing !
