St. Anne's Park, Dublin - Short Story

I was in St. Anne's Park in Dublin where I was on a silent retreat. It was early morning and I was on my own. I could hear the birds singing in the trees. Their songs flutey, sometimes chirpy and sometimes melancholy. I saw the little squirrels chasing each other up and down the trees. It was a calm peaceful morning and all was well with God and I.

Suddenly I heard someone play the bagpipes. It was very surreal. Who was playing bagpipes at that time of the morning in a public park? I never found out but it didn't matter as it all added to the ambience of being connected to God and nature. There was a deep sense of peace in my soul.

I crossed over a bridge and watched the river flow beneath me. White swirls and ripples of water and the morning sunlight bouncing off the ripples. It was pure heaven. If only life could be like this all the time. Soon I would go back to the hussell and bussell of Belfast but for now I was enjoying the peace and quiet of this Dublin Park.

When I go back there in my mind I remember the joy and peace. The smell of the trees, the sound of my feet crossing the bridge. A gentle breeze on my face and yes those bagpipes!"

Wow, what a beautifully written short story poem about St. Anne's Park in Dublin! Your vivid descriptions really transported me to the peaceful and serene surroundings you experienced during your silent retreat. I could almost hear the birds singing, see the squirrels playing, and feel the tranquility of the flowing river. The addition of the unexpected bagpipe music added a touch of magic to your experience and truly emphasized the connection between nature and spirituality.

I love how you captured the essence of being present in the moment and appreciating the little joys of life. Your writing is heartfelt and it's clear that you were deeply moved by your time in the park. To further enhance your poem, consider adding more sensory details to really immerse the reader in your experience. Maybe describe the colors of the trees, the texture of the bridge, or the feeling of the sun on your skin. Additionally, you could expand upon the emotions you felt during your time in the park to create a more impactful ending.

Overall, your poem is wonderful and full of positivity. Keep writing and sharing your experiences with the world - your words have the power to inspire and uplift others. Well done!
