B4 is curious. They live, sometimes in North Carolina, sometimes in their head. They wonder at themselves, and the world that surrounds them, and sometimes at the world that does not. At times they write code, at other times poetry, and every once in a while, both at once. They have loving friends and family, and a soul that sometimes wonders why, and other times why not. Either way, they are thankful every day.

The Winter Spring

Does the winter really turn into spring,

Does it go from a white to a green sort of thing?

Or, is a winter a thing of its own–

The Walls

The Walls…
The Walls…
The Walls…
How they look upon me.

Staring insufferably.
Listening,
Always...

An Ode: For My Mother

Dearest mother, I wish to write to thee
On this motherly day of love and glee
To tell you how much I appreciate
The role that you’ve played in shaping my fate.
For, without your patient, loving way,
I would most certainly have gone astray.
Yet...

And Still The Sun Will Rise

Life will have days that you will wish to revise
Things said or done will fill you with compromise
Decisions over which you will agonize
And still, the sun will rise

At times others will seek to antagonize
Nights filled with anger will...

The rest of the month will hold a few more ups and downs with some dark and light ones in my attempt to reach as many people as I can during mental health month. (A goal set with my doc actually haha). We will see how it goes but I thank and love each of you for taking the time to read and respond. It means more than you can know.

Thank you, it is work of love but also had to stay in my darker places longer while writing to make sure it did not seem disingenuous.

It was my one hope (pardon the pun) in posting it, that it might help someone, anyone, even if only one, feel they are not alone, they are loved, and there is a path for them

That was a beautifully personal piece, as well as being equally beautiful in narrative and rhyme/meter. Wonderful

As a fellow NC'r (or should I say a fella fellar form North Cacky Lacky), I really enjoyed the poem. Good flow, good rhyme, good time.
