Analysis of A Simple Picture

Edwin Tanguma 1966 (CA)

A Simple Pucture

I’d like to cuddle with you
Next to a nice warm fire
While most of our world is asleep
On the other side of our door

At least this is the picture
I have seen within my dreams
We are finally together
Without caring what others think

And if this is just a dream
Please do not ever pinch me
Because I do not want to awake
To discover it is not real

Have you ever felt the same
Or shared any of these thoughts
Sometimes I even ask myself
Is this more than coincidence

When I think about the odds
I know its reality
They are not just bells and whistles
That I can hear inside my head

P.s.What would you say,
     “IF I ask you …..”?
