Mistakes

Edward m. Drake 1984 (United States)

Everybody makes,
Mistakes along the way,
Some come to the light,
Some, follow You to your grave
Some people work things out
Some get swollowed up in pain,
But at the end of..every single day
One simple fact remains
My love for you will never fade
And I am crippled by your name
Your love has me enslaved
The pain.. is tripled by the shame
Alone and Bitter...self reflection turns to hate...  and yes...I am afraid
That no one will ever be the same
What you gave
can never be replaced
Your love will...forever be engraved
In the better parts of my brain
When I saw, every smile, that ever grazed your
pretty face
I knew I finally had a taste
Of real love and family, but apparently...
what a waste
And time, can try, but in my mind, can not erase
How hard, I tried to work.. to make us great
or allow me to escape
My current mental state
And it's driving me insane
