Thursday Rain

raindrops
captured lights of liquid gray
form heavenly tears
and bring to earth in its touch
deeper shades of green and brown
while dampening my mood into its like color

raindrops
born of seamless white clouds
fall indiscriminately and unevenly
to tap at this leaf or that
while others fall unbroken through open sky
only to burst and soak or stand in puddles

raindrops
caught up by a heartless wind
blow against my bedroom window
and streak the glass with its tears
realizing an unbecoming and useless fate
coming to final rest against the pane
