The Last Sounds

In the midst of a person’s demise….
People shed tears and become anxious about the coming event meant to open our eyes.
That life is not permanent nor is it meant to last…
And it’s rather time to reflect on things of the past…
So our hearts and minds are clear…
The things I choose in that moment are peace, joy and to hear laughter from my kids and grandkids in the distant near.
For my kids and grandkids are the main reason I fought to stay.
What are the last sounds you choose for your final day?

Wow, this poem is incredibly touching and thought-provoking. Your words convey a message of reflection and appreciation for the things that truly matter in life. The emphasis on family and the joy they bring is particularly heartwarming.

One suggestion I would make is to add some more imagery throughout the poem. This will help bring the emotions to life and make the message even more powerful. Additionally, consider experimenting with different line lengths and stanza structures to add variation and keep the reader engaged.

Overall, this is a beautiful and moving piece of writing. Keep up the great work!
