Starry Night
Lines In These Sands -
Endless lines in these sands
As we walk together tonight
Night's bright sky alive
In celestial radiant light
Waves at sea gather in hunger
Amongst the tide's disarray
Soon to wash over innocence
Creatures scurrying away
Surging surf symphonic sounds
Play soft against our ears
The krill the clams the crab
Steadfastly embracing fears
Against a backdrop of black ocean
Where the stars seem to end
Fishing boats afar off
Bows' beams seem to begin
Merge into a memory
Van Gogh's a 'Starry Night'
Shadow of your breath bathed
By moon's midnight delight
Our steps mirror one another
Upon pale sienna shoreline
Smells entice cries from gulls
Pleading their case in rhyme
Footprints dissolve in gossamer
Drowned by cold froth and foam
Dunes their cream colored grasses
Sway like the 'Pines of Rome'
Endless lines in these sands
As we walk together tonight
Mesmerized by emotions
Consumed in a starry night
