Guilty Pleasure

As we said our goodbyes, I knew
She'd return to her husband's arms.
But I couldn't resist her enticement,
Her touch sent shivers and allure.
She touched me
In a way I had forgotten,
A way I hadn't known
In so long.

The whispers of the new morality
Echoed through my mind,
But the longing in her eyes
Left no room for me to be a saint.
Her eyes said
What she couldn't bring her voice to say.
She wouldn't make me beg,
But her eyes were begging
For the same effection
Her husband had retired
Many months before.

We stumbled into the hotel room,
Her lips hungrily met mine.
Soft, searching lips meet,
Tongues dancing in a tango,
Passion ignites heat,
An artful flow,
Entwined in love's sweet shadow.
The guilt was heavy on my conscience,
But the desire was hard to decline.

Our bodies intertwined,
The passion was too much to bear.
As we collapsed in each other's arms,
I couldn't help but feel the anguish
Of what I knew would come
What I knew she'd do when we were finished.

Lips locked in passion
Heart races with each embrace
Fingers surveyed skin
Bodies dance in sweet rhythm
Lost in the bliss.

Exploring bodies
With guilt etched into our hearts
Unveiling secrets
A search for redemption, but
The price of pleasure is high

Softly entwined limbs,
Whispers and moans fill the air,
Two hearts merge as one,
Passion ignites, flames flicker,
A sacred art.

Breathless and spent, we
Fall into each other's arms,
Heartbeats intertwined,
A moment of pure contentment
As our souls become one.

But as she lay on me
Skin to skin
Taking in the her scent,
There was great melancholy in the climax.

I knew this wouldn't last,
She'd go back to her life.
But in that moment of ecstasy,
Nothing else mattered, not even my guilt.

The passion and guilt are as intertwined as the limbs you both wrapped around each other in this brilliant piece of poetry. I felt the steam and how personal desire will be revisited sometime in the future...perhaps when libido doesn't rule the morality of who you really are.

Really good piece! Some typos and repetitive words like allure in back to back lines. But all in all really good!
