Though we've had troubles
Suffered pain in the past
We weathered the storm
For a love meant to last
Insecure and alone
We continue to try
Intentions of comfort
Return as a lie
Uncertain the ground
On which we stand
Will we last like stone
Or crumble like sand
I have trouble it seems
Letting go of the past
This is why I am certain
Our love will never last
Because our love you see
Was only in the past
