Parental Guidance

From day to day, still I remember,
The few words that I rarely consider,
Parental guidance in my own endeavors,
I moved about to over-rule the world,
Thinking that's what a man is supposed to render,
Again throughout my silent surrender,
To reflect that parental guidance is better,
For my half life of decisions that have led me to settle,
Shaking my head parental guidance is an honored nettle,
So in silence I remind myself of my own denial,
I no longer impress upon my past once held title,
For through my efforts I lost a worthy caption,
To say or do with purpose and guidance.
