I present as autistic, although I have never been diagnosed as such. I cannot turn down the opportunity to make puns. I do not “get” emotions. Life is “going through the motions”. Perfumes either make me choke, or mask the sounds of the outside. I can count on my hand the number of time I have lied. I feel everything with extreme passion outwardly. I feel very little inwardly. It is hard to explain things without using literary devices. I don’t trust people who like me. Most of my life I have been afraid. My favourite colour is orange. I have faith in few, and it is always the brave.

Flying.

I burned myself
AGAIN -

I’m always doing that.

Another chance to hide
under reality’s sting.

A thing
UNFATHOMABLE.

An “Icarus Sing”.

And then,
I get to repair the thing.

A chance to show my skill
with the salve,

Complacent adjacent

“Smugness” has always been something I have been embroiled within,
and hoping to escape from.

I don’t do “caring” well.

“Kindness” is easy -
it’s a pre-prescribed version of life,
with all of the steps carefully laid out.

I know me....

Thank you for today

The perfect
woman
/man
/person
/prism of prison
to catch,
and really
hold
my hand
would have to be

KIND,
and CLEVER,
and totally OKAY
with knowing that
I can’t EVER
show affection
in the usual way -

the way that’s expected -

When I was 15
I became obsessed with
the Yin and the Yang.

The truth and the lies.

It was the first piece of jewellery I ever wore -
a cheap piece of tat
held round my neck
with nothing more than a shoestring.

A hormonal, earnest...

In games of life and death,
no-one wins,
not really.

But the flip-side reveals a lot,
a chance to note
what’s
going on.

“Your presence heals me.”

Have re-read this for the first time since writing it.

Very mawkish.

Poorly written.

I think the sentiment has some good that shines through.

I shall rest,
with your permission.

I shall write,
with no contrition.

A moment’s pause,
a chance to think…
that tick’ling touch -
a call to drink.

So I shall rest
at the edge of tracks,

a chance to truly
hit the max.
