Colours One

Two men of colours white and black

Battling as foes, lay dying on a track

Their colour or creed mattered none

For blood that gushed had colours one

Whatever our colour or creed

At birth on mother’s milk we feed

Mother, father,...

Success

I raced up the mountain looking for you
So many others were running up too
To be the first and to be the best
From childhood we train for this test

I went past many in my haste
Some seemed tired some seemed dazed
But reaching that summit was...

A beautifully crafted verses. Wisdom and understanding of life comes with time and maturity. Conveys a positive and contented reflection of life. This was my second choice. From my memory though.. It was the liite sparrow that hunted Jack Robin.

Beautiful construction and a heartfelt story line. As a first timer out here, this was the poem that brought out most emotion. Thank you.

The poetic magic woven delicately. One of my favourites this month. Gave the impression of someone tenderly and intently watching the infant. Thank you.

A beautiful construction, with the skilful use of words, rhyme, and imagery. The impending hurricane provides the vivid imagery and sets the tone of the message. It has the eye set on you. So you have no escape. You, who lied and cheated.
“I” is mentioned at the very end. So all this is between you and I. So if you hear a laughter when dawning at sea- that is me!
Emotion is conveyed clearly with minimum words.
