Analysis of What Had Been Disbelieved
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
What had been disbelieved,
Is today accepted as normalcy.
And no longer are steps made miles away,
To legalize craze.
With deceiving disciples being praised.
For their determination to overthrow,
Truth to remove from reality to use.
Or speak of it.
Most these days consider a crime committed.
Increasingly,
Liars everywhere are selling their tales.
And delusions to deny,
A mental illness sold that thrives.
Yet claim does not exist.
As a way of life allowed.
Promoted to permit.
Destroying what had one time been,
Remembered as reliable consciousness.
With common sense to regard today,
A threat to avoid by any means necessary.
'What has happened to truth?
It had been easily found to find,
On sale at the mall of all places.'
'Times have changed.
And that truth has now become,
A division of The Department of Justice.
At a price few can pay or afford,
To bargain and expect to have their way.'
'Oh. Okay!
At least I know where to go and expect,
My interest in truth to be protected.'
'Not only that.
But being laughed at is free.
With no expense for you to pay.'
'Unbelievable these days have become.'
'Tell me about it.
You can say that again.'
'Unbelievable these days have become.'
'And...
Incredible as it is.
Tax free too!'
'Would I lie to you?'
'And be an exception?
Who would want,
That kind of attention to get?
Just to prove a destroying,
Of their own credibility!'
'Uh...I...
Huh? What?'
'I'm joking.
Look at you.
So serious.
Are we not all Americans?'
'I don't know how I should take that.'
'As a compliment.
Of course.
Geessshhh.
How else would you take it?
