Analysis of Honored
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
Finally,
You have discovered something I have done...
To do that updates your criticism.
I had been concerned for decades,
That my comedic acting skills...
Were taken as serious,
As those of scene stealing politicians.
I am a writer.
Who immensely enjoys,
The field of entertainment.
And so honored am I to be flattered,
By valuable and much sought after criticism.
Controversy to have it these days at my age,
Is priceless.
The kind that attracts to maintain sustained,
Notoriety.
Notoriety I did not seek.
But blessed to receive it.
And I thank you!
From the bottom of my humbled heart.
'How does that sound?
If I was awarded for my humility.'
'It is almost close to approaching sincerity.
Why don't you include a picture of yourself.
Wiping away a tear from your left eye.'
'Hmmm.
A portrait. Maybe...
A mural. A medium size one.
Good idea.
But...
Wouldn't that offend,
The ones with conservative ideals?
They've got enough already too hot,
In that boiling pot.
I don't want to add onto,
Whatever the agenda they have.
To assume me to be sending,
A liberal leftist message.'
'Everything is not political you know!'
'OH?
Since when?
Everything those politicians do is criticize.
And none of it is honorable to flatter anyone!
