Analysis of Nonsense
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
There are more today quick to admit,
The presence of nonsense is understood.
Understanding the time to waste,
Taken to debate and argue its cause...
Created the nonsense in the first place.
Initiated by those who dared to introduce,
The use of common sense.
When warned any mention of ignorance,
Would not only start a riot.
But also offend the ones,
Defending their entitlement to be ignorant.
Causing the entire community,
Coming together to celebrate 'Black Love Day'
To have community activist,
Shut down the festivities.
With attempts to do peacefully.
As police called to the scene...
Had no other alternative but to arrest,
Church members and their ministers.
For screaming obscenities in protest.
Resulting in disturbing the peace charges.
And citations issued to absentee fathers,
For lack of their child support payments.
'This madness is getting crazier by the hour.
Why are they now putting handcuffs,
On our ministers?
Loyal and faithful servants of God?!
We can not come together,
To have a peaceful ceremony.
Without the cops being called.
Confiscating all the beer and liquor too!
