Analysis of A Call to Repentance
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
O nation not desired,
Come and gather together;
For you have not acquired,
Righteousness for a tether.
Before decrees take effect,
Before the day passes away;
You must begin to reject,
Causing you to go astray.
Before there comes burning wrath,
Before there comes of that day;
When anger crosses your path,
You need to learn to obey.
For you need to seek the Lord,
All you humble in the land;
Not letting Him be ignored,
As you tread on sinking sand.
Seek righteousness being meek,
Follow commandments as told;
He is fair in what you seek,
Assured blessings will unfold.
Woe to you inhabitants,
His Word will be against you;
Make a plea for penitence,
Being sincere to construe.
The seacoast will be pastures,
With meadows and folds for flocks;
Tranquility that captures,
A peace where the shepherd walks.
The seacoast be the remnant,
Possession where they shall graze;
They shall rest and be content,
With praising the Lord always.
