Analysis of Simplify

Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)

I doubt if there is anything more to wish,
Than to simplify one's life to life.
With a peace of mind to await it.
If not yet it has come to experience.

The more one ages to escape the chase,
Of that pointless rat race to realize...
Life to live as basically as possible.
Affording the necessities.
With a periodic satisfying,
A taste to crave to have it paid.
And not a concern to have to impress,
Pretensions addressed to make.
Is life to have it feeling blessed.

Vowing in sickness and in health,
Deserving to serve...
One's own happiness to have it,
Their way.
Regardless who believes this to be,
An expression of selfishness.

And...
If this is admitted,
To be what it appears?
The one not doubting this assessment,
Is the one who seems encouraging...
The observation of it to know deserved.
Simple. Basic. And, enjoyed to have done,
Well earned!
